Social media is an excellent tool that many businesses are taking advantage of, and Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare is a great example. TMH has a notable following on TikTok as well as Instagram.

Florida A&M University spring 2022 graduate Lauren Hampton completed her bachelor’s in pre-physical therapy at the top of her School of Allied Health Sciences class, while working 12-hour shifts, providing medical care to terror suspects at Guantanamo Bay.

Florida is looking to join a list of states that allow residents to carry concealed firearms without a license. HB 543 (2023), referred to as “Constitutional Carry,” will enable residents to carry firearms without additional training or a permit, citing the 2nd amendment. 

Florida A&M interim Provost Allyson Watson, Ph.D., visited the School of Journalism and Graphic Communication (SJGC) for a listening tour led by Dean Mira Lowe. Dr. Watson’s tour included meeting with SJGC ‘s professors to discuss the happenings around campus. The SJGC PR Agency was on the list for the provosts’ tour.

The third annual Sankofa “Lineage of Soul” concert took place Saturday in FAMU’s Lee Hall Auditorium. The event was hosted by the Tallahassee-St. Maarten Foundation, a nonprofit organization dedicated to Tallahassee’s sister city, St. Maarten, to showcase the culture, music and food of the Black diaspora.

Florida A&M’s Student Government Association met Monday and discussed a variety of topics, with Hurricane Ian mentioned several times due to its disruption of student life.

Florida A&M University is known for its extraordinary and creative grad pictures. Students take this opportunity to show their individuality and celebrate their accomplishments. Every semester the photos from our illustrious university go viral and we as a community celebrate the new graduates.

Stormy Wellington, aka Coach Stormy, was the target of considerable online hate after a short clip went viral. It showed her reprimanding her friend, Tammy Price, for accepting a messy plate at a barbeque held at a women’s retreat hosted by Wellington. 

The phrase “dress for success” is a common motto many people live by, although it takes a different meaning depending on your outlook. At Florida A&M’s School of Business and Industry, a professional dress code is enforced.
